Hello everyone and I hope you all are having a wonderful day or evening or whatever time it is for you reading this.

I recently got my driver's license, which is a big deal for me. However, I want to talk about the anxiety I feel when driving. Throughout my life, I've always been anxious about being in a car. This fear began when I had a babysitter who drove recklessly when I was in elementary school. Since then, my perception of driving has been negative. I find it hard to stop thinking about the potential dangers on the road. The fear of human error leading to an accident or causing harm to myself or others has always scared me.

I know it sounds like a cliché, but driving is a privilege. The thought of having the power to take someone's life unintentionally terrifies me, which is why it triggers my anxiety. I tend to drive slowly and make sure to keep both hands on the wheel at 10 and 2 o'clock. However, my confidence wavers when I encounter reckless drivers, causing me to feel a moment of panic.

On the positive side, driving allows me the freedom to go anywhere. At times, when I think about this, I feel a sense of peace, and my anxiety eases. I wish I had some tips to share with you to help cope with driving anxiety, but I'm still learning to manage it myself. I will do some research and share any techniques that I find helpful.

I apologize for the short blog entry - I'm still getting used to this. Have a great rest of your week, and remember to drive safely and take a deep breath.

xoxo,

ella
